Hi Mish,
You mean the argument that if the US stops buying Japanese stuff, they will stop buying USDs and treasuries?
Seems a bit circular. If the US kept their dollars and didn't give them to the Japanese then the US wouldn't need the Japanese to give them back!
US M2 money supply is up 3% YoY to end August. The lowest for 9 years. Hadly evidence of "monetization". More like the Fed is trying to go cold turkey. Let's see how much further they get.
