OT - Rolette County. Extremely flat, no trees. Which I find freakish. Not the flatness, the parts of Louisiana where I come from are extremely flat, but the lack of trees is very freaky. The photos of one building in the middle of total flatland make me actually uneasy.

I have a friend from Nebraska who says all the trees around here give her claustrophobia. Her house is surrounded by mature hardwoods. She finds them sort of oppressive, especially at night or during storms.

To me, they're sheltering and protective.
