There is a 6 month gap in Bush's service here, followed by more gaps. In 1972, he went to Alabama, but never reported for duty. What happened then is a mystery. But we know Bush did do community service in an inner city social center dring this time period. The kind of thing rich kids do rather than go to prison. right? "Participates in drills and alerts at Ellington. Begins work for Houston-based agricultural company. May 1972 Bush asks for and receives permission to continue his duties in Alabama while he works as political director on the Senate campaign of Winton M. Blount, a friend of his father. Loses flight credentials after missing physical exam. Sept. 6, 1972"
