They lied, helped invent modern propaganda and disinformation tactics, waged smear campaigns against Germany's real heros, divided the nation, tortured prisoners, used fear campaigns, made up lies justifying invasions, stole oil-fields, pumped up nationalistic fervor, trumped up phony sins of their political opponents, etc. Not a single smearvet charge is true, and if you don't know it you're not very smart.
