Oil--the Chinese officials is targeting to reduce the share of imported oil within 25% of the total consumption.

Edit, besides spending the US$ on oil, China also buys more foreign asset, Noranda, for example<g>

Japan holds a total of US debt of US$ 932.96 billion. And $307.3 billions of it were obtained bet. Sep. 2003 and Aug. 2004.
