re: I'm not going to put words in Kerry's mouth

so where is your "truth"?

re: That interpretation is just stupid.

and yet you are not willing to provide an alternative interpretation....

re: What he did say right after the global test comment was along the lines of "you have to be able to explain your actions to your friends, and the reasons for your actions should be defensible"

and who are those friends? Brits and many others are with us.

I guess those friends are french after all. And France (NATO member) did not support us military as was their obligation when we invaded afghanistan. French, germans and Russians were selling weapons to iraq and in violation of UN resolution themselves. So with kerry's friends who needs enemies...

re: shot....America is used to being one of the countries in the world that stands for and promotes freedom, democracy, equality, liberty, human rights, and the rule of law - the stuff laid out in the Constitution and Bill or Rights.

you might want to consider rereading The Constitution as it has absolutely nothing to do with "the world".

re: Actions taken to promote those values would pass Kerry's mysterious "global test".

you mean like going to war to bring the freedom?

re: those values listed above which are universally accepted by America's friends)

and america's friends would not sell weapons to america's enemies as france did

re: because I think he only mentioned this Global Test idea once

you mean like a Freudian Slip

What he did say right after the global test comment was along the lines of "you have to be able to explain your actions to your friends, and the reasons for your actions should be defensible", or something like that, which sounds totally reasonable.

It is NOT reasonable when your "friends" have interests which are adverse to your's. That's the entire point.

I'm sorry, I just can't continue this. It is one thing to discuss these subjects with people of reasonable intellect, but you have to be able to think just a little, and clearly you aren't.
