Actually, Richnorth: For the past two weeks, I have been fully engaged in those efforts required to move from a very big very nice house where I have lived for quite some time into another not quite so big but equally nice house still in Evanston and still only a few blocks from Lake Michigan.

I have discovered during this move that it is much easier to accumulating "things" than to cull and distribute and rid one's self of "things"! Thus, after giving a full truck load of furniture to my daughter and having it carted to Michigan, I still had left over much more than I need and much more than the movers anticipated. But, you know, the good wife has to be involved in the decisions also and so it boiled down to a continuing quesion of "Do you really want to keep this or can we give it away to someone who will use it?" And how can you easily answer such a question when you have lived with something as long as I have lived with "things"?

But we made it and are now reasonably settled into our new house.

I really do have one big regret however. The guy who bought my former house is a Democrat from Georgia. The first thing he asked me to do was to climb the tree and retrieve my Bush/Cheney sign which I had mounted about 20 feet above the sidewalk to protect it from Democratic brownshirts. Wouldn't you know it! I almost cancelled the sales contract. I meant to write into it a provision that the Bush/Cheney sign stay up until after November 2 but my agent wouldn't let me.

Now, I am in a townhouse and really have no convenient way to display my Bush/Cheney sign. So I compromised with my good wife. I now have it displayed in the rear window of my automobile. I'll bet more people see it there than did so in its previous habitat.

But I have not been ill. Nor am I plagued by doubts. But if I was yesterday's Bush "give Kerry hell" speech in NJ was as good a dose of medicine as anybody needed.

And even you, now, Richnorth, seem ready to concede that Kerry will lose and that Bush will be around for four more years. Kerry's campaign during the last few weeks has almost destroyed his and Edwards' credibility. Talk about shooting one's self in the foot. Kerry and Edwards have done a pretty good job of shooting themselves in the head. With opponents like those Bobsey Twins, what more does Bush need to prevail?

PS: I may have moved from one Demo neighborhood but I wound up in an even worse one. It is a lot younger and the Demo opposition are a lot more vocal.

Oh Well, only two more weeks to go. And this seventy five year young Republican plans to enjoy every day of it including listening to Kerry's concession speech.

Cherio, friend.
