Oops, I had a humor-impaired moment. I blame my new washer-dryer, but will spare you the details except to say that there is no lint trap and in caps in the manual it says, in caps, "CLEAN LINT TRAP OF DRYER BEFORE EACH USE!" Oh, why should I spare you the details? -- I have made many calls to many people about this. I've been waiting for return calls from "Corporate," (no noun provided) for ten days. Tech assistance doesn't know why there is no lint trap on my machine in the spot where their manual says it should be, front lower right, or why #14 of their manual's Operating Instructions, which is "Lint Trap" is missing in my manual, whose instructions stop at #13. Quite diabolical, really. Haier said that a missing lint trap isn't covered by the manual, since the machine, being new, "isn't broken." I asked if it would be covered if it exploded from not being able to clean out a non-existent link trap. They repeated not to operate it until I know where the lint trap is so I can clean it out, but if it's not a little square panel on the lower right of the front of the machine, which their manual says it should be, they can't tell me where it might be. I should continue to wait to hear from "Corporate," who, they believe, will know more about where the missing lint trap is than their quesition-line tech support people do. They refuse to give me Corporate's number so I can call them directly. I've thought it was funny, except that it's getting to be (shudder) LAUNDRYMAT time, which is very annoying; and I've made four phone calls about it, which is also getting unfunny. I"m now going to document all this by sending Haier an email from their website. I made notes on my conversations with all the people I've spoken to, one of whom told me that if I use the dryer w/o cleaning out the lint trap, "there will be a fire." So I'm distracted at this moment, getting ready to write Haier. Wait. I can paste this to them, just adding names and dates!
