You'd think Canadians would be pissed about subsidizing American drug prescriptions...

One point that is not brought out in discussions about the overseas drug prices is the implied threat by these Governments to produce the drug without license is the companies don't comply.

What is seen with price controls here is a lower price now. What is not seen is the fewer new drugs in the future.

What makes you think that Canadians are subsidizing American drug prescriptions? It is the drug manufacturers that are upset. The concern in Canada is that the manufactures will try to limit supply of product to Canada if sales to Canadian pharmacies increase substantially and U.S. sales fall.
