The FAX management would have dramatically increased the size of the fund and therefore increase the fees they would collect. They claimed it was in the shareholder's best interest, although Mr. Market didn't agree with that view. They could, of course, design a rights offering that would not screw the current shareholders, but naturally, that wouldn't attract the massive influx of capital they sought. And Tommaso's right, it was a good time to pick up additional shares. However, it was a tad risky since I suspect most of those screw-the-shareholders proposals actually go through, and consequently I only added a tad.
