I don't care if Saddam had zero Al Qaeda links, had zero WMDs, or had zero relationship to 9/11. His elimination is a good thing for the planet and for Iraqis and for Americans, and the only way to achieve it was through force. It's a shame you didn't write the above statement into one of George's pre-war speeches.....

The reason they didn't use those negatives prior to the war is because most Americans would not have gotten behind the war effort. In a democracy, its very hard to get the people to fight a war if they are not feeling threatened. Saying Saddam was a bad guy would not have cut it. Saying that he was building WMDs that might be aimed at the US generates the kind of fear that was needed to get Americans to fall into line.
