I saw that segment of the debate and it was a hoot. Russert kept at him and kept at him and he wouldn't even withdraw what he said about single moms. With the gays, that can play so why not just stand by it? But single moms? That's pretty far out there and I hope hurts him. If they can't teach... should they be nurses in pediatric wards? Be able to do child-care? A number of jobs bring single moms into contact with children. Makes you wonder what else he thinks that he hasn't said out loud yet.

I was blown away when I read the guy's comments. Like you, I can understand the remarks re. gays.......after all, the GOP has turned 2004 into trash-the-homos-year but single moms??? Did anybody bother to tell this guy that 50% of American marriages end in divorce? That its very likely there will a good number of teachers who are single moms?

Wait! Forget that.........did anyone bother to tell this guy its the 21st century???! No wonder the Dem. is running neck and neck with him. She must seem like a breath of fresh air by comparison even in GOP S. Carolina.
