Honestly, I think he's giving Bush too much credit. IMO, Bush isn't about preemptive war. Bush is about an excuse to get at Iraq's huge oil reserves.

He couldn't be about preemptive war because there was insufficient evidence about any WMDs and no evidence that SH was involved in any kind of imminent or even ongoing thread to the US. Iraq isn't about preemption or even about war. It's about getting his mitts on the low-hanging fruit of oil reserves and making scads of money from it.

If Bush was really about 'spreading liberty' and 'preemption' then why did he rush to protect the Oil Ministry while leaving potential WMD and WMD info hiding places unprotected? Why didn't he immediately turn the country over for elections as soon as we landed?

I also don't think 45% of the USA loves Bush. I think about 20% loves him, the others simply vote Republican, always support the Prez or see a way to make more money.
