I know exactly why my husband's ancestors left and I'm glad they did. They moved west and.....as you say....."bitch slapped" the English out of some of the best property on earth. They share a great deal of responsibility for developing a nation of people that have enjoyed freedom and democracy. We all have the Scots/Irish to thank for the fact that democracy even exists. The English were too stupid, and power hungry to understand those concepts. Rather than spend any more precious time and resources wasted on stupid, power hungry people, the Scots/Irish took matters into their own hands and left the Island. They wouldn't live under a oppressive regime then and they never will. I am proud of my ethnic background.....you evidentially aren't. Those are personal choices. Is it your opinion that without ethnic pride humans would be better off? Where do you stand on ethnic pride when it comes to blacks, hispanics, French, Chinese ect? Would you prefer we all become void of ethnicity? BTW......my dear grandmother was a native born Brit, and she agreed with me. M

The Scots-Irish were bitch slapped by the English for years. Why do you think they left?? It's not cause they conquered England and needed other places to expand to. They ain't so tough... Ya gotta rememember the pecking order. The Celts wiped out the original British tribes. Then the Angles and the Saxons wiped them out. Followed by the Normans doing the same to them. After which they got the Scots-Irish. Who then came over here and wiped out the Indians.
