Saw a bumper sticker: Support Our Troops! Who can disagree with that? Bush: Support our troops! Rumsfeld: Support our soldiers! Wolfowitz (is he in hiding?) : Support our troops! Cheney: Support our troops! Halliburton: Support our troops!!! Wait Halliburton - are you supporting our troops? Really? A soldier earns around $ 25K /year. Halliburton pays English company on cost plus basis to hire private truck driver, security guard etc. These people who work alongside with the soldiers - and even are protected by our troops - are making at least $ 150k/year. Their employer, that English company charges Halliburton $ 150K + cost, around 20%, make it $ 180k. In turn Halliburton charges US government another 20% which means $ 216K for each civilian, and collecting $ 36K. How do you feel if you are a soldier working side by side with a civilian that is doing just about the same job and he/she gets paid six times what you make as an enlisted person. Support the troops? Talk is cheap, and is really dirt cheap when you do anything but.
