JAKK. I followed you in, but later and at a higher price. ouch!

Not sure what I will do at this point. I'm holding just a very few shares in an IRA. If stock were not in an IRA, I would consider taking short-term cap. loss.

I seem to be holding several issues where there's alleged management wrong-doing now being reported - strong enough and apparently great enough to really tank the stock. Maybe it's just the stocks I'm attracted too. Maybe there's just a very large number of crooked, excessively greedy managements still out there (even after Enron), and I'm seeing my share.

Looks like Marty Whitman (of Third Ave Funds) who talks about "safety" may have got caught in JAKK also. I guess the type of alleged problem - kickbacks/collusion - can't be spotted by balance sheet analysis or visits to management.

In any case, another reminder to me why I prefer living with a diversified portfolio.

I'll reenter toy company Jakks Pacific at current price.

Forward p/e - based on management's positive earnings projection - is about 8+. To me, that's low enough of a p/e for a small buy.

One still wonders for whom management is working though. Sleazy and/or illegal activities there by at least one person.

Hasn't seemed to have affected business or the stock price (which recovered from abrupt lows from last year when shenanigans were discovered). Third Avenue Funds still has a position from what I can see from Yahoo.

Stock, now at 19.03 has traded below book many times. Book continues to increase (That's stated book - this is a company that grows by acquisitions as I recall) and is currently $17.20. Should the stock drop below this b.v. number on no adverse news, I'll begin to add more to my very few shares.
