They continue to think of this as a criminal case, so that only guilt beyond a reasonable doubt could trigger invasion. Instead, of course, it is a war, in which one operates on best intelligence and moves against serious threats before they become intolerable.

The relevant facts are that warnings within the intel community were there... that the admin was coming to incorrect conclusions.

Cheney/Rumsfeld set up their own Special Plans Office to pick the intel they liked.

Intelligence experts from the Pentagon and State Department (and CIA - I have seen video interviews of former covert operatives confirming this) disputed the conclusions which Office of Special Plans was coming to, using their very carefully cherry picked data.

A director of the Nuke establishment in the country says "you are wrong and I am shocked".

The facts on the tubes were known in AUGUST 2001.

It goes on and on and on.

Deception of the world was perpetrated by Bush and gang, and they used Powell's presumed integrity to sell it. The same skewed intel was sent to other countries.

Do you really think that other country's intelligence services would be trumpeting publicly that they were duped by Bush and gang?

Of course not.

The harm done to international relations goes beyond just what the public in other countries think... the establishment in other counties including the intel establishment have got to be laughing their pants off right now. Trust is a hard thing to rebuild - I view the damning revelations (and surely more to come soon) as bad for international intelligence cooperation as any Philby-like spy scandal.

BTW the only moron in this discussion is the current sitting President.
