We both know that the question posed in the second debate was a loaded question. There were foreseeable problems no matter how Bush might have answered.

However, were I GW, I would have acknowledged the error of retaining Clinton personnel who later turned with a flurry of spurious pseudo-historical books. I would have admitted an error in assuming, early in my term, that Ted Kennedy could be reasonable, objective and trustworthy. I would have admitted the folly of assuming that the UN Security Counsel operated in a manner reflecting honor and honesty. I would also admit my error in assuming that France and Germany were allies not opportunistic and self-serving nations.

And personally, he should have admitted that his pale-blue tie, worn during the first debate, stunk. At least we may agree on that.
