Fear of Recession: that's real and it touches across the board and goes beyond ideology even. The leading economic indicators had (have) been pointing down for 3 months which sucks to begin with. Annecdotal evidence is that the job market still blows with or without outsourcing which doesn't help at all. What would have happened if the tax cuts and the Iraq bs had gone into getting people to work and cutting middle class taxes in order to have them spend immediately? Bush really messed up this economy and we're starting to pay for it now. I can't see ANY good economic news coming out anytime soon. Oh yeah, oil prices are insane and will whack the socks off of Northerners this winter.
