Re: According to President Bush's commanding officer, Lt. Bush volunteered for Vietnam, but did not have the required flight hours in F102's.

ROTFLMAO! The circularity of this logic is hysterically funny.

So, The Little Prince goes AWOL and the deserts to the wilds of Alabama and fails to report for medical exams and his required duty to protect Houston from the Viet Cong. Because Bush is certifiably treasonous in his disregard for his sworn duties, he can't be sent to Viet Nam.

McNutt, you wonderful nut, your logic would look normal in Joseph Heller's "Catch-22". (A madhouse satire, for those who are unclear on the concept.)

God Help America, Land of the Chickenhawk, and the Loons who primp and pimp for them.

"Lt. Bush volunteered for Vietnam"

Not when he enlisted, he didn't.

That's when he checked the box that said 'does not want to serve overseas', and for good measure wrote in 'don't want to go to Vietnam'....

It's all in the official documents released by the WH.

(Maybe he really did --- later on --- tell someone that he 'wanted to go', after there was little chance of that happening because of the scaling back of our forces, and his state of training and readiness... but that's hardly the same thing now, is it?)
