And the payouts as well? It does seem silly to give someone with $Billions, say Bill Gates, a check for a couple of grand every month.

The main problem is that while it is a pension fund it is not treated as such. If it would be treated as such that is with proper reserving and pricing we would not be in such a mess now. JMHO
