The New Age is definitely a heterogeneous movement of individuals; most graft some new age beliefs onto their regular religious affiliation. Some conservative Christians believe that a massive, underground, highly coordinated New Age organization exists that is infiltrating government, media, schools and churches. No such entity exists. Dr. Carl Raschke, professor of Religious Studies at the University of Denver describes New Age practices as the spiritual version of AIDS; it destroys the ability of people to cope and function. " He describes it as "essentially, the marketing end of the political packaging of occultism...a breeding ground for a new American form of fascism." Universal Religion: Since all is God, then only one reality exists, and all religions are simply different paths to that ultimate reality. The universal religion can be visualized as a mountain, with many paths to the summit. Some are hard; others easy. There is no one correct path.religioustolerance.org _____________________________________________________________ What was that shrub said in his closing remarks of the 1st debate? "We've been challenged, and we've risen to those challenges. We've climbed the mighty mountain. I see the valley below, and it's a valley of peace. And this reference to a mountain in the 3rd: "In the Oval Office, there's a painting by a friend of Laura and mine named -- by Tom Lee. And it's a West Texas painting, a painting of a mountain scene. And he said this about it. He said, "Sara and I live on the east side of the mountain." ______________________________________________________________ Yep...shrub has grafted New Ageism onto Methodist. His ability to cope and function is plainly inadequate.
