David,

My time frame for the "bargain" was long term. In my opinion, the Stern deal keeps SIRI in the game. It makes them appear to be a legitimate contender. I see that they were able to raise some money on the announcement. They probably won't see any significant bump in subscribers until the last quarter of 2005. Howard will promote the hell out of the service.

I would think that the sports contracts have to be a financial stretch for both companies.

I don't have any money down on the XMSR-SIRI race. My interest here is purely intellectual. I might place a bet on SIRI during the second quarter of next year. At some point the stock will start to move up in anticipation of Howard's (no pun intended) launch.

Do you have any details on the O&A deal? I suspect that came cheap, but with some significant incentives. I have listened to Howard since he started broadcasting in Chicago (maybe 13-14 years ago). O&A were also picked up by the station that carries Howard. I couldn't stand listening to O&A. If I am not mistaken, XMSR's subscribers need to pay a premium for their program.
