Now why would anyone even seriously think about giving an impeached US President like Clinton another power base to do more damage? In just 8 years as POTUS he squandered the end of the Cold War and the first Gulf War by allowing North Korea and Iran to become nuclear powers and by allowing Al Qaeda to grow and flourish. Imagine the damage he could do at the UN.

The Clinton as U.N. secretary general story has resurfaced

It's hard to see how Clinton could avoid being an improvement over Kofi Annan, if he still cared about policy at all, that is. If all he wanted was self-aggrandizement he could 'go native' and that would be hell on wheels for the Bush administration.
