What you are saying is interesting though. Kerry says many programs paid for by only taxing the rich with a pledge for no new taxes to middle class or poor. This is idiocy. Either he has no intention of delivering on any of his programs or he has every intention of following the NYTimes and renegging on his promise. Yes we know where he stands--in quicksand as usual. mike

Given your propensity for distortion it's not a surprise that you would misrepresent Kerry's position.

The GOP position is on "firm ground"...don't worry about the deficit, it'll go away by itself no matter how much we spend. We can save Social Security by merely setting aside a small portion of new contributions in a privatized system [i.e., the stock market]. It's too bad that Bush didn't do that when he first came into office. [check where the markets are today vs. where they were when Bush took the oath of office.]. There is the very small matter of the transition cost of SS privitazation is $2 Trillion. No one needs to ask where that will come from, it'll just materialize out of thin air.
