He'd be hitting on all the women in the united nations.

I'm sure he'd have a fine time. Who would care? He'd have no shortage of willing partners, I'm sure.

Clinton is still very popular in spite of his failings. I think we men, whether we admit it or not, are just basically envious of his many many 'accomplishments' and most of the sanctimonious reproach is basically just sour grapes. (ok, maybe not, but I suspect there's a lot of that)

If GWB was elected cleanly and he wanted to heal the rift that is dividing the nation today, there is no more magnanimous gesture he can make than to support Clinton for the UN SG post.

Historically, I think the big superpowers have not had or wanted that post, but today, there is a lot of house cleaning to do, since the Oil for food is but one entry in a long list of alleged corruption problems in the UN. The World body deserves to work the way it is supposed to. A stronger leader than Annan is needed here.

In a sad way, many of the world's biggest problems today could have been solved at various points if the UN had been working the way it was supposed to. That it hasn't worked doesn't mean it will continue to fail.

Of course, you have to worry that any country who wants special favors would attack his (ahem) achilles heel, but I think perhaps he has learnt self control with the wisdom that comes of old age. Or perhaps it was just the junk food that made him do it.
