Agreed! Leaders of all political stripes screw up. I am not a Kerry apologist, just a Bush critic. Just because I find fault with Bush and gang does not mean that I support the Democrat campaign platform.

I am a passionate "democrat" in the pure sense of the word, not the political party sense, and am a pragmatic conservative with thinking loosely based on Burke.

My bottom line is simple: when leaders lie to the people, they must be removed.

But only the people can do that, and they can only make such decisions properly when armed with facts. If more of us made a concious effort to get beyond spin, there'd be fewer opportunities for leaders to f'up.
