Dear Friend,

CBS is laughing all the way to the bank.

It's true. As the rest of the mainstream media are focused on the election campaign, CBS has gone into "no-comment" mode. They continue to stonewall while their "independent investigation" does its work. As you may have heard, CBS President Les Moonves wants the report of that investigation to stay under wraps - until AFTER the Presidential Election on November 2.

Clearly they hope to escape criticism while the country is distracted.

You’ve helped put enormous pressure on the CBS empire since Dan Rather aired that bogus hit-piece on President Bush on 60 minutes. Our efforts have been reported by the mainstream media all over the country – even by CBS affiliates themselves! I can’t thank you enough for your support, when I consider the scale of it – I’m humbled.

Three things you can do right now to hold CBS accountable:

1) We've rebuilt our one-click ActionEmail system to focus on CBS advertisers. You can just click here to send your message to the people and companies that pay Dan Rather's salary. Remember, be polite but firm.

2) Call the Commission on Presidential Debates. On Wednesday evening, the third, final, and most-crucial Presidential Debate will be moderated by none other than CBS anchor Bob Scheiffer. Given that CBS has gone far beyond its role as a news organization and stepped into the Presidential campaign, it is absolutely unacceptable for the network to have such a high-profile role in the debates. You can call the commission at (202) 872-1020.

3) Help keep RatherGate.com going. While many other websites have moved on to other issues, RatherGate.com will keep our eye on the ball - keeping CBS accountable and holding Dan Rather responsible for his actions. Our operation is lean, and we put countless hours into the site each day.

So far, we've helped you send millions of emails to CBS affiliates (some that have even been read on the air!), a campaign that has NOT been ignored. We've helped you send thousands of faxes. We've helped you get all the news and the inside scoop on the story as it develops.

But it's not easy, and we need your help. We don't have the millions in advertising revenue that CBS does. Blogs have driven this story on a shoestring budget - so won't you consider a donation? Think of it as an alternative to a magazine or newspaper subscription. Consider donating an amount equal to what you pay for cable television.

Blogs like Rathergate.com are the new media - but we need your help. Click here to make your most generous contribution of $10, $20, $50 or more.

Again, I thank you for your effort, and your support.

Best,

Mike Krempasky Rathergate.com

P.S. Remember - it's a long ball game, and we need YOUR help in the late innings!

"tell me what he HAS done"

I don't know, but I know what Bush has done, and I don't like it.
