Sorry to have to disagree, Sel, but when has the press ever been completely objective? They're selling newspapers (or TV viewership) and have an incentive to sensationalize whatever happens to be going on, no matter the target of their distortions. Bad news sells. If it bleeds, it leads, etc. Now, that said, there's a difference between reporting news and editorializing. But both the reporter's perspective and the incentive above color both news and editorial - and AFAIK it's been that way from the invention of the printing press.
