I went to Mike Ruppert's Lecture last night in Santa Cruz. I think about half the crowd wanted to commit suicide after listening to him. Judging by the reaction, not too many people are aware of peak oil. Mike thinks that the United States Government is going to be replaced by an Afghanistan Warlord type government in the next 5 years. He said that things are going to start deteriorating rapidly starting next year. He also expects that Bush and Cheney will be impeached if they win the election in 12 days based on the Valerie Plume case. Overall, it was not an uplifting night.
