What? No, it was Nixon who needed to be pressured. Remember he ran on a secret plan to end the war which turned out to be a lie. He had no plan, so about 15,000 more American guys died needlessly, not to mention awful bombing of Vietnam and Laos.

Kerry helped save thousands more US troops. And helped save the POW's too. But after 1970 or so no POW's were harmed. They were too valuable. They were bargaining chips, like all POW's. ANy POW who says Kerry harmed him is a bald-faced liar. You really donmt know this, huh?

You think I'm lying when I say all smearvets claims are 100% false? Uh uh. I'm definitely right. Absolutely. No spin. That's why Bush smearing three war heros in a row is so evil.

Wrong!

It was the hubris of Nixon that prolonged the war: he didn't want to be the first president in US history to lose a war. So the war went on despite the fact that reality dictates pulling out of the war.

Recall that a trial balloon was floated by Senator Cabot Lodge for peace 1968 soon after the North Vietnamese wrested the initiative in the war from the Americans with their Tet Offensive. While peace feelers were sent out to the enemy, Nixon told the American people the Vietnamese were losing and Americans would be returning "soon." (Typical Republican BS.) But that "soon" dragged on for another 7 solid years!!! and despite the fact that Kerry advocated ending the war in 1971. To be sure, America could have pulled out of Vietnam soon after Kerry's testimony instead of doing same only in 1975. But Nixon did not want to lose "face". And so, more American and ally troops died.......

To be sure, Kerry was not responsible for prolonging the war and the torture suffered by Amerucan POWs. Nixon was the culprit. You should put the blame where it belongs, not on Kerry!
