America is quite insular by geography. On the other side of the Atlantic when East sleeps you guys work and when the East is awake you are sleeping, this insularity does has an impact on the cross section of middle America even greater. As far as Kerry Bush comparison on that count is made it is irrelevant, who journeyed where; today Kerry may have travelled millions a miles but Bush strategy is quite clear as far as global positioning of Americans interests are concerned. He is not on a blind pursuit to find allies who have no interest in American goals. You must have read my post on Franco German alliance and why they want to keep US out of Middle East, it is all about self interests Kerry wants to negotiate that surrender of influence and make US really insular.
