any center fire rifle caliber will penetrate the body armor worn by cops.

That probably goes for full metal jacket bullets.

They don't even allow them at my local gun range because it tears up the equipment too much. They aren't useful for hunting. There is still plenty of ammo that is useful for hunting available.

EPSR Range Rules:
1. No full metal jacket ammunition to be fired on the rifle range. (FMJ pistol is OK)
