John Kerry's testimony was made in 1971. Nixon ought to have arranged for a peace accord soon after that. But he didn't.
Though the bombing by the US was halted in early 1973, the shooting war continued.

The fact that Kerry was not mentioned in that chronology does not necessarily mean that Kerry did not make any contribution towards ending the war. For all I know, any mention of Kerry was squelched from it. Recall that Nixon was against Kerry and he naturally would not want to be seen as being "forced" by Kerry (whom he considered as an upstart or some unsavory character) into conducting negotiations with the North Vietnamese.

If you believe that chronology, I suppose you could say that Kerry didn't exist at all and so what the heck is all the smear stuff thrown at Kerry by the Smearvets?
