Tenet thinks the war in Iraq was "wrong". Go figure... Don't you just love it when they quote one word of a speech? I'd be interested in the context of the word 'wrong' being used (too bad they didn't provide it). This quote is much more reasonable though (yet you didn't choose to bold it): "When I look at the regime (Saddam Hussein) ran, and the elaborate depth he took to deny us the ability to build our intelligence, I can't say it was a waste," Tenet said. "I believed he had weapons of mass destruction. He didn't. At the end of the day I have to stand up accountable for that. In the meantime our nation needs to honor the commitment we made in Iraq." Now he tells us! "Did not live up to expectations"? Well, no surprise there........after all, the CIA was trying to figure out how to get American flags to the Iraqis before the invasion was over. Americans in general and the GOP specifically need to wise up and get a better understanding of how the world views us. Maybe we can avoid quagmires in the future. ted
