It happens to be located in a very liberal town in a suburb of Seattle. There were three young people standing on the corner of the main intersection of that town holding a huge Bush/Cheney sign. Considering the fact that every large Bush/Cheney sign I've seen around here has been totally destroyed, they have little "choice." Because it's a liberal town, I was amazed at the number of cars that were honking their horns and at the arm waving and thumbs up signs out car windows........including me and my passengers. ;) Someone in a little foreign car said something.....I couldn't hear......but it must have been something nasty because I heard one of them shout back "you must be a democrat." I have two voting age sons who intend to vote for Bush, and several of their friends intend to do the same. They all think Kerry is going to subjugate American sovereignty to the UN. One of their very best friends is serving in the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Second light Calvary Regiment (The Sea-Elks) in Iraq. They fear that Kerry will not protect their friend. They are not impressed with his record as a Senator, and they are all appalled at his numerous votes to cut the military and at his behaviour after returning from VN. They are also very angry about the destruction of republican property...signs.....and at the way MTV, Hollywood and the stars they once admired have defamed and ridiculed the president and our country. They recognize that socialism is the backbone of liberalism and the democrats, and are worried that their future earnings will be confiscated in the form of taxes, denying them the ability to realize the American dream. They are all young, informed citizens, and all of them use cell phones exclusively as their only mode of communication. This is powerful stuff! I have talked to them and I have told them their concerns are valid and real. M
