The Bushies are attacking up in West Michigan where I have been working on a project...

detnews.com

I'm glad to see they're wasting LOTS of time, energy and money up here...This is a conservative part of a delegate rich swing state BUT a lot of voters are upset with how Bush has managed the economy and the Iraqi adventure...The environment and healthcare are also big issues too.

You really know the Bushies are worried when they start putting BIG (and obnoxious) Bush/Cheney signs on their cars that already have "W" stickers on them...They are also running around and putting yard signs on too many available corners...They are even buying up expensive Billboard signs on major highways that say things like "A More Secure America"...Bush/Cheney 2004...Yet, there is unprecedented grass roots activity on the Democratic side...I know some folks volunteering for Kerry and they have a record number of students helping out...tons of energy and more new voters registered than ever before (these are not folks that want to vote for the status quo either)...Kerry will do well over by Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Lansing...In the Southwest part of the state (the Grand Rapids, Holland, Kalamazoo area) its more conservative and Bush and Cheney have made regular stops here (you know how they like to preach to the faithful -- only at screened events though)...I just feel that Kerry will take Michigan...Jennifer Granholm is a very popular Democratic Governor and she is actively assisting Kerry here...I just heard Kerry will be visiting the state again early next week -- that's a smart move as the 17 electoral votes here should NOT be taken for granted.

btw, LB if Mr. Delay loses his election I would tell you it couldn't happen to a nicer guy...He'll be missed in the House (after all he was a uniter, not a divider <G>...I mean he may have united the Dems to take action to get rid of him).
