"Big Oil" companies do not control the price of crude. shrub's lunacy in Iraq has helped create over a $50 billion windfall for just saudi arabia...shrub's best buddies.
shrub's too stupid to get it though. Most of the money funding the Iraqi insurgents is coming from Saudis.
They keep shrub's stupidity going and that keeps the price up.
The big oil companies are gouging off of the whole mess with higher profit margins.

Or, since big oil in this country does not own a lot of the oil production, they would lower prices and sell more.

Look for the price of regular gasoline to quickly climb to $1.60/gallon after the election - no matter who wins.
