Question to ask

Are we better off than four years ago? This is a good question to ask yourself as you prepare to vote on Nov. 2.

On the nightly news, we see the continuing challenges our troops face because there was not a plan to secure the peace. Their safety is even more at risk because they don't have the best gear and armored vehicles. Our president says we're on track, while many leaders say the rebuilding efforts in Iraq are incompetent. And the world is more dangerous.

Next, there's the issue of jobs and health care. More people have lost their jobs under this president than I can remember since I was a child. Health care is unaffordable and a worry for us all. Just ask someone who chooses regularly between paying the rent and buying medicine. Something has to change.

Equally important to our health is the fact that this administration has focused on weakening environmental protections that took years to achieve. Their actions will increase allowable toxic mercury pollution in our air and weaken drinking water standards among other things.

Contrast this with the president's comment that he believes in promoting a culture of life. It doesn't match.

It's clear that John Kerry is the better, more trustworthy choice for America today. He demonstrates a command of the facts regarding the war, is a better advocate for the middle class, our jobs, health care and the environment. He brings us a message of hope rather than fear.

PA will go for Bush. Over 31,000 rally goers stood in the rain at Hershey listening to the Pres. It was the largest rally of the season.
