Things could very likely play out in the manner you describe and I just can't see the market rallying in that environment. I've slowly but surely been adding to my short exposure and will continue to do so on Mon. & Tues. My plan is to unwind those positions incrementally - probably about a third the day before the election, (in case there is a winner determined that night - miraculously ) and the rest I'll try to time out to gradually unload before the final verdict. With those positions closed I'll have lots of room to play the January effect if indeed it sets up as we hope it will.
