While I have to agree the .V part of the TSX has a colorful past (being from Vancouver I know a few 'promoters' myself) I have to say the flip side of that is the initial joy of your .V stock moving to the big TSX board followed by having the short positions and volatility increase as the hedgies and momo players put you on their radar and your ticker gets entered into a Black Box for some computer generated trades.

I'm not sure which is worse.
