My only quibble would be that our politicians are actually quite bold in accepting the bribes and collusion being offered by corrupt media moguls like Rupert Murdock. What is spineless (as well as self-dealing) is the media itself, which the Founding Fathers saw as the public's counterbalance to the temptations to corruption of public officeholders.
