I believe it was either placed on the money during the fanatical 50s, or was inserted into the national anthem during the 50s. I think it was the later. Either way, it should be removed from both. The words, "under God", were inserted into the pledge by the Republicans in the 1950s. ted

Amy, He can believe in God, but the constitution says he needs to stop imposing his brand of religion onto this country. One of the biggest lies coming from the anti-Bush crowd is the notion that Bush is somehow "imposing" his faith upon others. I think I've seen JF and Al bring up religion a LOT more than Bush has.
