White House Undermined Chemical Tests
20 APR 2004 | EWG has investigated scores of harmful industrial chemicals, the companies that produce them and the government policies that permit Americans to be exposed to them in their food, water and the air. Our research has repeatedly borne out the need to shift the burden of proof and require manufacturers to substantiate chemicals' safety before use in consumer products.

An April 2004 report by Democrats on the House Government Reform Committee reveals that for the past three years, top Bush administration officials worked closely with the U.S. chemical industry to hobble a European proposal to do just that.

Two-thirds of Americans mistakenly believe that government health officials test the safety of industrial chemicals before they are used in consumer products. Approximately 99 percent of chemicals sold are not subject to safety testing.

Certain US industries benefit when the dollar declines and other US industries benefit when the dollar appreciates. That's just part of the business cycle. For anyone to say that a currency can and should only go up is like someone who says that a stock can and should only go up, but wait, what am I doing describing a moron like you when you presumably look yourself in the mirror at least, what, 1,000 times a day? LOL.

And by the way, while Clinton was busy losing his majorities in the House and Senate during the 90s, he was also allowing Al Qaeda to grow and flourish and North Korea and Iran to become nuclear powers. Knowing that, do you still think that the Clinton years were all peaches and cream, you psychopath?
