[This is interesting. Who is this guy? Who does he replace? This sure is a difference from the tone we have seen lately about wanting a higher Euro to combat inflation and lower oil prices. does he vote on ECB decisions? Mish]

Juncker sees any further euro rise vs dollar as 'serious problem' - spokesman LUXEMBOURG (AFX) - Luxembourg premier and finance minister Jean-Claude Juncker would see any further rise in the euro against the dollar as "a serious problem", a spokesman said

Juncker will be the euro group's first permanent president from January, when his country takes on the EU's rotating presidency

His spokesman noted that the previous range which caused concern was 1.27-1.29 usd. The euro is currently trading at 1.2823 usd

Juncker's view was that "it could be a serious problem if it went further up", the spokesman said

He added that "the trend looks pretty bleak", saying the US presidential election is "adding to uncertainties in the market"
