There is something frightening about how Bush/Rove has motivated the RRR. When I was a kid, this country absolutely respected the need to keep religion separate from govt. People understood how religion can divide a country, how it can be the source of horrible wars. But now, with the advent of Bush and Rove, you are seeing many attempts to introduce religion into govt institutions, whether that be the recent calls to allow prayers in public schools, a lack of understanding by Judges to remove God from the pledge to respect the separation of religion and govt, and so on. The list grows longer, the longer Bush is in office - he directly and indirectly has mobilized the RRR to engage in a full frontal attack on the separation of govt and religion. He directly has mobilized this by doing things such as placing that judge in Arkansas who has brought religion into his court room decisions, I hear. People used to respect a separation. Even the religious fanatics used to respect this when I was a kid. It's what the country was founded on. Too many wars have been started due to religion, and even the religious fanatics understood that, back then. They were fully aware of the risks. But people in our country have somehow lost the insight that people had when I was a kid. What's gone wrong? This country has gotten scary. I'd prefer if we keep religion and govt separate, so as to avoid creating an environment that risks any type of war. Take a look at the venom from this poster, in response to the notion about separating govt from religion. He shows a complete lack of tolerance for other religions. Very unAmerican. But is this the future of this country? dev.siliconinvestor.com I think Rove's efforts to win an election at all cost, specifically, by mobilizing religious fanatics and risking the separation of church from govt, is creating a huge potential future risk for this country, that we can ill afford. Someone in the Republican Party needs to be bigger than this, and say, hey, look what we're doing to the country by mobilizing the RRR - we win votes, we win the election, but we are creating a huge potential risk for this country say about 20 years from now. We need a reasoned leader in the Republican Party to be more cautious here. Regards, Amy J
