Kerry did NOT apologize or admit he made a mistake about the Vietnam protests. He said, "well it was a bit over the top, but I was young." He was 27! If that is your idea of "an apology" no wonder you're voting for Kerry!

MIAMI - Senator John Kerry has distanced himself from contentious statements he made three decades ago after returning from the Vietnam War, saying that his long-ago use of the word "atrocities" to describe his and others' actions was inappropriate and "a little bit excessive."

"If you wanted to ask me, 'Have you ever made mistakes in your life?' sure," Kerry, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, said on Sunday in an hourlong interview on the NBC News program "Meet the Press."

"I think some of the language that I used was a language that reflected an anger."

The near-apology came after the host, Tim Russert, played videotape of Kerry, in 1971, acknowledging that he had participated in shooting in free-fire zones, burning villages and search-and-destroy missions.

All those actions were "contrary to the laws of warfare" and the Geneva Conventions, he said then. Republicans have seized on those comments, and accusations about war crimes the young Kerry made in testimony before a Senate committee, to try to undercut his war credentials.

"The words were honest," Kerry said Sunday, "but on the other hand, they were a little bit over the top."

So, Kerry's apology score is ZERO. Nice job, Kerry supporter, you proved that you're a hypocrite.

Whereas, did you ever see that press conference where Bush was asked if he ever thought he made any mistakes?

You should have seen the faces he made. You should have seen the moments of silence. You should have heard him say that he honestly can't think of any mistakes that he could have made.

Apparently you missed the whining looks on the reporter and his neighbor sitting next to him when GWB refused to answer the "setup question". I have seen kerry with that same whiny look during much of the debates, especially when his civil service record as senator was addressed.

Did you forget that GWB said he made mistakes when asked in either, the second or third debate? He would not address them because the people involved were not present. Which mistake did kerry admit during the debates? Was he even asked the question?

One look at mrs. kerry's grimace in the third debate, when kerry blew off the final question about his wife and family, and instead talked about his mother suggests a "huge" kerry mistake.
