Hi EP,

I see CROSSY and his team doing well with a selection of steel picks. With all the pipelines and tankers the world needs, what do you think? I see TeckCominco just reported stellar results.

I'm hoping for some investment bank downgrades, maybe a bit of bad news out of China, just to get my foot in the door. OTOH, all these hurricanes, typhoons and earthquakes are killing me. What, is mother nature long steel? The last bout of profittaking was far too brief!

David

European Nickel: Nickel price is strong, firm working on new low-cost extraction process, which if it is successful, could well see a bid from BHP Billiton.

- here's the risk; pile up nickel laterite ore & pour acid over it, is this going to be a successful method of extraction?

- Jay, is a nickel mine in Turkey exotic enough for you?

- BHP just exercized its option to acquire 3m shares @ a premium to the market

- currently a severe shortage of nickel globally as demand high & supply tight

- BHP has options over further 6m shares @ a price that would put an average value of 38p a share on the whole stake

- SPECULATIVE is a paragraph that springs to mind
