>>>Pentagon spokesman Larry Di Rita called the criticism "cover-your-backside revisionism." He said prewar assessments warned of potential dangers ranging from massive oil fires to debilitating refugee flows, many of which did not occur. "For someone to extract, with the sensibility of October 2004, that we should have listened to their warnings when the warnings covered an expanse of things that could happen, many of which did not ... I just think it's tiresome," he said.<<<

What a bunch of bull! Heck, they could have gotten better intelligence if they had just read some of the writing of those of us who were posting on SI's DON'T START THE WAR thread!

We knew; they knew. We cared; they didn't care!

Amazingly enough, Bush knows better than reality so he will stick to his 'do it on the cheap' plan that Rummy cooked up. That was 18 months ago and there still haven't been reinforcements.

Well, ok, the pissed off Iraqis now include those who wanted the US to succeed.

It's stunning to think that modern warfare by the (ha) last remaining superpower could be this DUMB.
