What happened yesterday is one of the ugliest massacres that targeted Iraqis since the 9th.

Ugly? Yes!

But this was a simple screw-up.

Like American cops in America, all of those men should have been armed at all times.
Like American soldiers in Iraq, all of those men should have been armed at all times.
In a war zone, everyone involved in the war should be armed at all times.
In a war zone, everyone else should be armed at all times too.

Doing what everyone else is doing is the herd mentality. Surviving war requires outside the box thinking and a willingness to do things differently than everyone around you.

Humans tend to flock together and do the same thing even when they sense it is wrong.

There must be comfort in numbers, but I've never figured out why anyone would would find comfort hanging with unarmed crowds during a gunfight.

It takes a pair to be different, to think for yourself and to go against the established status quo. We, fortunately, have groups of men like that. Maybe that is why one president labeled Green Berets, "A different breed of men."

The Iraqis will learn this too. But they will pay some dues before getting their diplomas.
